What are cross-currency fees?
Cross-currency fees are charges applied when you make payments in a currency different from USD (United States Dollars), the default currency for Eversend virtual cards. These fees cover the cost of converting your payment into USD (United States Dollars) for processing.
Examples of when cross-currency fees apply:
Paying for a streaming service subscription billed in EUR or GBP.
Making a purchase in Uganda and paying in UGX.
How are cross-currency fees calculated?
A small percentage of the total transaction amount, typically around [placeholder for percentage]%.
Includes a currency conversion rate based on the current market rate, with a [placeholder for markup]% processing fee.
How to reduce cross-currency fees:
Whenever possible, choose to pay in USD instead of the local currency.
Check if the merchant offers a choice to bill in USD (United States Dollars).
If you have questions about a specific transaction, our support team is happy to assist through the Eversend app.
