Seeing a charge you don't recognize on your Eversend virtual card can be concerning. In many cases, the charge is linked to a recurring subscription, a card maintenance fee, a penalty charge, or a foreign currency (FX) fee for purchases made in a currency other than USD.
The quickest way to identify an unfamiliar charge is to review your transaction history in the Eversend app. If you still cannot determine the source of the charge, our Support team is happy to investigate.
Common Reasons for Unexpected Charges
Recurring Subscriptions
Free trials and subscription services may automatically renew once the trial period ends or on the next billing date. If you've previously used your virtual card for a subscription, the merchant may continue charging your card until the subscription is cancelled.
Card Maintenance Fees
Depending on your card type, periodic maintenance fees may apply. These charges will appear in your transaction history.
Penalty Charges
Certain card-related activities may result in penalty charges where applicable. Review your recent card activity to determine whether such a fee applies.
Foreign Exchange (FX) Fees
If you purchase in a currency other than your card's currency (USD), a foreign exchange (FX) fee or currency conversion charge may apply.
