What is an Eversend virtual card?

Written by Stone Atwine

An Eversend virtual card is a digital USD Visa card that you top up from your Eversend wallets. It allows you to make secure online and international payments anywhere Visa is accepted online, without needing a physical card.

Your card details are securely stored within the Eversend app, making it easy to pay online whenever you need to.

Key Things to Know About Your Virtual Card

Viewing Your Card Details

You can securely view your virtual card information, including your card number, expiry date, CVV, and billing address, directly in the Eversend app.

To view your card details:

  1. Open the Eversend app.

  2. Go to Cards.

  3. Select your virtual card.

  4. Tap Reveal Card Details.

How Many Virtual Cards Can I Have?

The number of virtual cards you can create depends on your account type:

  • Personal accounts: Up to 3 active virtual cards at any one time.

  • Business accounts: Unlimited active virtual cards.

Foreign Exchange (FX) Fees

When you use your virtual card to pay in a currency other than USD, or when a merchant settles the payment outside the United States, a foreign exchange (FX) fee applies.

The FX fee is calculated as:

USD 0.50 + 3.5% of the transaction amount

Because part of the fee is percentage-based, the total fee will vary depending on the value of your transaction.

Funding Your Virtual Card

Your virtual card has its own USD balance, separate from your wallets. Top it up from your Eversend wallets before you pay.

Before making a payment, ensure that your card balance has enough funds to cover:

  • The purchase amount

  • Any applicable fees, including FX fees where applicable

If your card balance is insufficient, the payment will be declined and a USD 0.40 decline fee applies.
