Maintaining your virtual card's activity and adhering to the platform’s guidelines is essential to avoid termination. Below are the various reasons that may lead to the deletion of your virtual card:

1. Insufficent Balance

  • If your newly issued card is used for a payment that fails due to insufficient balance twice, the card will be terminated after the 2nd failed attempt.

  • For existing cards, if a payment gets declined due to insufficient funds 2 times, your card will be terminated after the fourth failed attempt.

2. Blocked Merchant IDs

  • Your card will be terminated if it is used for two payment attempts on unsupported platforms such as Crypto, Bet9ja, Wise, adult content, or any other restricted merchant categories. For a complete list of unsupported platforms where your virtual card cannot be used, please refer to this article.

3. Negative Balance

  • If your account incurs a negative balance due to virtual card fees and you do not settle the balance, your card will be terminated. Ensure that you always maintain sufficient funds in your wallet to cover any associated fees.

Conclusion

To ensure that your virtual card remains active, always maintain a sufficient balance, avoid using the card on restricted platforms, and promptly resolve any negative balances.
