Why was my virtual card deactivated or deleted?

Written by Stone Atwine

If your Eversend virtual card has been deactivated, deleted, revoked, or removed, it was due to one of the reasons below.

We understand this may be inconvenient, and we apologize for the disruption. Please note that once a virtual card has been deactivated or deleted, it cannot be reactivated.

Why was my virtual card deactivated?

Your virtual card may be deactivated for any of the following reasons:

1. Three declined payments in a row due to insufficient balance

If three payments in a row are declined because your card does not have enough balance, your card will be terminated on the third decline. If a payment goes through in between, the count starts again.

To avoid this, keep enough money on your virtual card to cover your payments, including subscriptions.

If your card has been terminated, contact Customer Support for assistance

2. Outstanding negative balance

If your account has an outstanding negative balance, for example from card fees you haven't paid, your virtual card may be terminated. Any remaining balance on the card will be transferred to your USD wallet and used to offset the outstanding amount where applicable.

If your card is on the monthly plan (USD 0.99 a month), keep enough funds in your USD wallet before your renewal date.

3. You requested to remove the card

If you selected "Remove Card" in the Eversend app, your card will be scheduled for deletion.

  • The card will be permanently deleted 24 hours after your request.

  • Once deleted, any remaining balance on the card will be returned to your USD wallet.

What happens to the money on my deactivated card?

Any remaining balance on your deleted or deactivated virtual card will be transferred to your Eversend USD wallet after the deletion process is complete. If your card has already been deleted, check your USD wallet balance to confirm the funds have been credited.

What if I'm expecting a refund on my deleted card?

Refunds sent to a deleted virtual card are not processed automatically. If a merchant confirms that a refund or reversal has been issued:

  1. Contact Eversend Customer Support.

  2. Share proof of the refund (for example, a screenshot or confirmation from the merchant).

Our team will review the refund and, if confirmed, credit the funds to your Eversend USD wallet.

How do I create a new virtual card?

You can create a new virtual card at any time, provided you have enough funds in your USD wallet to cover:

  • The card plan fee: $0.99 on the monthly plan or $2.99 once on the one-time plan

  • The minimum card load of $1
